Introduction
Politics is not about taking part in Political debates, discussion, having knowledge about political
leaders, parties, issues, etc. Politics starts with simple conversation, participation in decisions,
forming opinions about some essential matters which affects you or the people around you, etc. To
participate in it effectively, one needs to be able to engage with others with the appropriate attitude,
the capacity to reason together, and the readiness to share the decision-making responsibilities.
Expected Outcomes
Students will
1. Recognise the importance of a personal set of political values and acquire the skills and
confidence to apply them in practice

of opinions and views, etc.

2. Explain the group about the video that they are going to watch.
About the Video
Speaker - Hajer Sharief is an activist promoting human rights in Libya and beyond, Hajer Sharief works
against society's flow -- and across generations -- to find solutions.
Everyone should participate in decision-making and politics -- and it starts at home, says activist Hajer
Sharief. She introduces a simple yet transformative idea: that parents can teach their children about
the political agency by giving them a say in how their households are run, in the form of candid family
meetings where everyone can express their opinions, negotiate and compromise. "We need to teach
people that political, national and global affairs are as relevant to them as personal and family affairs,"
she says. "Can you afford not to be interested or not participate in politics?"
3. Let us all explore this by watching a short video
